Wood Mill – Frame Assembler and Frame Cutter
Reporting to: Production Manager
MAIN JOB SPECIFICATION
Within the role of frame assembler, you will be expected to:
- Assemble complete upholstery frames of sofas, chairs and beds from parts provided by the wood mill.
- Operating frame stapling equipment.
- Work on a variety of different models/sizes for both production sites
- Maintain a record of jobs completed.
- Manage own workflow
- Have the ability to perform manual tasks and be safety conscious
- Ensuring good communications with team members at all times so customers can be advised of any delays or problems with their orders.
- Work neatly and accurately, maintaining a clean safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- To observe company health and safety policy at all times.
Within the role of frame cutter, you will be expected to:
- Calculating the optimum way in which to cut timber/wood to ensure the least waste
- Measuring and marking before cutting
- Cutting, shaping wood for frames for chairs, beds and settees
- Operating Wood Machines such as Panel Saw, Sander, Wall Saw, Router and Pillar Drill
- Work on a variety of different models/sizes for both production sites
- Maintain a record of jobs completed.
- Ensuring good communications with team members at all times so customers can be advised of any delays or problems with their orders.
- Work neatly and accurately, maintaining a clean safe working environment for yourself and colleagues.
- To observe company health and safety policy at all times.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
- Assist in the loading of furniture on to either own company vehicles or third party vehicles, ensuring care and attention is shown so that the correct items are loaded, recorded and handled correctly
- Responsible for Goods In, involves checking deliveries received from suppliers to the delivery note and safely and securely storing in the correct location within the factory. Also notifying the Production Manager of any missing / damaged or incorrect items received.
